I think I battled with getting a new notebook to start the new year but that would leave the last one half finished and I have so minimally put a whole season in about a third of the book I’m in now. Before, in my first journal I was haphazard with the use of pages. I used up the entire thing in one season. With this one I wanted to be a whole lot neater and draw some spreads that were useful to me. I also split out collections and notes into other notebooks. I find that this works best. I use this one journal for planning, tracking and as an inbox. I can process other thoughts to other places. I’ve gotten quite the collection of small notebooks and that’s fine with me.
I love doing this because it creates a greater focus for me. I find that I leave less done and I am notorious for forgetting things. I used to write in notebooks but I stopped for privacy reasons. I liked to be digital but there is just something about hand writing and drawing things. I have been using a pen device since 2002 and using OneNote for as long. So I have one master notebook with lots of things from the years. I’m in the middle of doing a massive over haul of those notes. I keep my journal in sync with a section of that master notebook for the most part.
This month I decided to go back to a few things that I liked in other months. Soon I’ll have the ideal setup!I want to get back to making doodles from the zen art challenge I found on Instagram. So I left a blank page just so. Here is what I have so far.
I’ve been having quite a nice time tracking how I feel for the month so i decide to go ahead and giving the year in pixels challenge a go. I need to make an array of feelings based on what I felt in December on my trial run. It’s always nice to look back on the tenor of the month so a whole year should be interesting. Tracking my vitals have been very insightful also. January should be just as great a month.
